Along with the aging face, the tissues of the neck also begin to show signs of aging. Additionally, excess weight gain can lead to fat accumulation under the chin and in the neck, creating an aged and unattractive appearance. What Is Neck Rejuvenation Surgery?

The angle between the chin and neck flattens, making the person look older in profile, which can also lead to significant psychological concerns. If the skin is still tight and the patient is relatively young, fat deposits in the neck can be treated with vacuum-assisted fat removal, known as liposuction.

At this stage, the most important and delicate point is choosing the right patient and selecting the correct method, which should be determined by an experienced doctor. Since the skin in the neck area is quite thin, removing the underlying fat can cause sagging. Therefore, each patient should be thoroughly analyzed to determine the most appropriate approach.

How Is Neck Rejuvenation Surgery Performed?

The procedure can be done under general or local anesthesia. After the operation, a neck bandage is applied for three to four days, and satisfactory results are usually seen after a 10-day recovery period when bruising and swelling subside.

If there is sagging skin, in addition to liposuction, the issue can be resolved by tightening a thin muscle called the platysma, which helps maintain skin tension. In this procedure, a 3–4 cm incision is made under the chin, hidden in the natural skin crease and leaving no visible scar.

During recovery, a neck bandage is again used for 3–4 days, and bruising and swelling typically resolve within 10 days. These procedures do not cause severe pain or pose significant health risks and can easily provide a younger and more attractive appearance.

Does Neck Rejuvenation Surgery Leave Scars?

Neck lift operations are among the cosmetic surgeries where scars can be best concealed with good planning. In surgeries performed with the correct techniques, the incision lines are placed in locations where they are not visible from the outside. It is very important to quit smoking and avoid blood thinners before surgery.

The operation is performed under general anesthesia. Post-operative pain is minimal. One week after the neck lift, patients can return to work and social life.
